Honey

Honey

Modern research has proven a positive effect of honey on our skin : Honey is a product with high nutritional value, that consists of fructose and glucose, but also contains fructooligosaccharides and various amino acids, vitamins, minerals, enzymes. When used on skin, honey not only has a softening, moisturizing and soothing effect, but also keeps the skin young, healthy and regulates pH. Not only honey has a moisturizing effect, honey also contains organic acids, in particular gluconic acid, which belongs to the group of polyhydroxy acids (PHA) in contrast to the well-known AHA and BHA. This acid also has an exfoliative effect, but it does it much softer compared to AHA due to larger molecules. Thus, honey improves the texture of the skin by soothing it. Honey contains flavonoids, phenolic acids, ascorbic acid, tocopherols, catalase, superoxide dismutase, reduced glutathione and peptides. Most of these compounds work together to provide a synergistic antioxidant effect. Thus, honey is able to resist oxidative stress and protect the skin from premature aging. The antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties of honey are associated with a high concentration of sugar, low pH, the presence of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), methylglyoxal and other polyphenolic compounds.

Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide that occurs naturally in the body, including the skin, eyes, and the joints. Hyaluronic acid helps to retain water in our skin. As we age, our skin becomes less moist and more prone to wrinkles. We can help our skin by applying topical hyaluronic acid to decrease the depth of wrinkles and enhance our skin’s firmness and elasticity. UV lights from the sun, tobacco smoke and pollution can decrease the amount of hyaluronic acid in our skin! So put SPF, avoid smoking , hike in the mountains and put your favorite TruNomad creams to make your skin look younger! Resource: https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/hyaluronic-acid-benefits

Prebiotics work perfectly well with mare's milk, creating a skincare that strengthens the immunity of your skin. We add prebiotics to hand cream, body cream, hand wash as well as body wash. We do not add prebiotics to our fragrance-free products.

Ceramides

Ceramides

Ceramides are made from long-chain fatty acids that help to create a barrier to prevent permeability. This in turn locks moisture in your skin, which helps to prevent dryness and irritation. It may also help protect your epidermis from environmental damage. All types of skin benefit from ceramides: - By creating a moisture-retaining barrier on skin’s surface, the ingredient prevents the feeling of dryness and “tightness” of the dermis. - Sensitive skin with a weakened lipid barrier needs ceramides as a firming ingredient. - Ceramides restore elasticity of maturing skin and improve the appearance of age-related changes.

We say NO and we don’t use phthalates, sulfates, synthetic fragrances and heavy metals in our skincare

Parabens
Parabens are preservatives with antiseptic and fungicidal properties that have been used by the cosmetic industry since 1920. The wave of mistrust in parabens started in 2004, when a study in Britain found traces of five parabens in breast tumors in 18 out of 20 women studied. People are worried that some parabens accumulate in the human body and thus have a negative effect on health: they change how endocrine system works, increase the influence of ultraviolet radiation, which leads to rapid skin aging. However, it is important to remember that there is no direct evidence of the negative effects of parabens on human health. Parabens are added to cosmetics in minimal quantities. In Europe and the United States, the dosage of preservatives is regulated by law. But, since we care about your health, we do not add dubious ingredients to our skincare. Our philosophy is - safety, efficiency and uniqueness.
Sulfates
Sulfates are surfactants used in cleansing products such as shampoos, toothpastes, shower gels and other cleansers. Sulfates are salts that are obtained by a chemical reaction of sulfuric acid with other chemicals. Sulfate molecules attract dirt and grease residues on the skin. On ingredient label, sulfates can be identified as follows: SLS - sodium lauryl sulfate, SLES - sodium laureth sulfate - and ALS - (ammonium laureth sulfate) - ammonium laureth sulfate. When used frequently and in high concentrations, sulfates in skincare may lead to: damage to the protective barrier of the skin and hair, thinning hair, increased skin sensitivity and skin irritation. It is important to remember that there is no direct evidence of the impact of SLS and SLES on human health. But if you have sensitive skin or skin prone to eczema, it is better to avoid products with sulfates and search for sulfate-free alternatives. We do not add sulfates into our skincare.
Phtalates
Phthalates - is a group of industrial chemicals which are used in the production of cosmetics, plastic (plastic dishes), food packaging, personal hygiene products and perfumes. In cosmetics, phthalates are used to create an oily effect, a moisturizing veil and is also used as a solvent for various ingredients. The danger of phthalates is the fact that they slowly accumulate in the body and can become the main cause of chronic poisoning. Years of research proved that phthalates cause damage to organs such as the liver, kidney and lungs as well as the reproductive system. Moreover, phthalates may cause various developmental defects. We suggest to avoid purchasing products that contain dibutyl phthalate, diethyl phthalate, dimethyl phthalate or DEA and DETA. TruNomad skincare says NO to phthalates to keep you and your skin healthy!
Heavy metals
What is considered a heavy metal in skincare? Chromium, manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc, gallium, germanium, molybdenum, cadmium, tin, antimony, tellurium, tungsten, mercury, thallium, lead, bismuth are all heavy metals. Heavy metals are used to enhance the stability and durability of skincare products. Applying skincare with heavy metals for a long time may accumulate in the body and thus result in : - premature aging, - allergies, - problems with reproduction and general development. TruNomad says NO to heavy metals, and we urge you to carefully read the ingredients label on the packaging.
Dyes in cosmetics
Artificial dyes are more resistant to temperature changes, UV radiation and microorganisms. This is the reason why manufacturers use them much more often. Skincare with natural dyes deteriorate faster. These are natural dyes: Carotenoids - water-insoluble carbohydrates that give yellow and orange colors. Polyphenols – gives red color with the use of beets, tree bark and some insects. Chlorophylls - give products a blue-green color. Remember that natural pigments can also cause allergic reactions. We do not add any dyes to TruNomad products. The color of our products is the result of adding natural ingredients to our recipe. For example, TruNomad body cream has a light orange color because of orange essential oil used in it. Liquid soaps are green yellowish in color because we add olive, sesame and coconut oils into our recipe. We believe that it is best not to use dyes in skincare products.
